    Lakeside Village Joins Forces with Signum Facilities Management

    We’re delighted to have been appointed by Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping to deliver comprehensive facilities management services across the popular retail destination.

     

    The appointment sees two Doncaster-based organisations working together, underlining Lakeside Village’s continued investment in the local economy while ensuring the highest standards of facilities management for retailers, staff and visitors.

     

    Signum FM is responsible for a wide-ranging programme of planned and compliant maintenance to support the smooth day-to-day operation of the centre. Our remit includes essential safety checks, mechanical and electrical services, and preventative maintenance across the site such as lightning protection testing, roller shutter doors maintenance, Portable Appliance Testing (PAT), boiler servicing, gas detection and shut off services and air conditioning checks.

     

    Our partnership helps ensure Lakeside Village continues to provide a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for shoppers and tenants alike, while also reducing downtime and improving operational efficiency.

    Introducing Our New Facilities Administration Assistant

    We’re pleased to officially welcome Gracie Miller to the Signum FM team, who has joined us as a Facilities Administration Assistant.

    Gracie recently completed her A Levels in Sociology, Psychology and English Language.

    Alongside her studies, she gained three years of experience working in a café and restaurant environment as a waitress and barista, where she also had the opportunity to support with administrative tasks.

    These roles helped her build strong communication, organisation and customer service skills, a great foundation for her new position at Signum FM.

    In her role, Gracie will be supporting the wider facilities management team with administrative duties, helping to ensure smooth communication and efficient day-to-day operations.

    She’s particularly looking forward to learning more about the facilities management industry, developing her administrative and communication skills, and taking on increasing responsibility as she grows within the business.

    Outside of work, Gracie enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

    She’s a keen football fan and loves attending West End shows and concerts, and recently even went to a “midlife rave” with her mum!

    When it comes to starting the workday, there’s one essential she can’t do without: a cold drink of squash in her Stanley cup.

    John Booth, our Senior Electrical Engineer and Qualified Supervisor (QS), marks an incredible 10 years with Signum FM.

     

    Over the past decade, John has been a cornerstone of our electrical services, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards and that our clients’ buildings remain safe, compliant, and efficient.

     

    His expertise and attention to detail reflect the quality and reliability our customers associate with Signum FM.

    We’re also delighted to recognise Matthew Johnson, our skilled Heating Engineer, who celebrates 5 years with the company.

     

    Matthew’s professionalism and technical ability has made him a valued member of our maintenance team, supporting clients across Doncaster and beyond with heating, plumbing, and commercial boiler services.

    FM Company Strengthens Workforce With New Appointment

    Give a warm welcome to one of the latest additions to the team, Richard Balmforth.

    Richard joins Signum FM as Operations Manager, where his day-to-day responsibilities involve overseeing the coordination of planned, reactive and installation activities across both public and private sectors.

    He takes a strategic, measured approach to achieving compliance and outstanding customer service as well as leading a team of engineers across the contracts covering electrical, mechanical, and fabric.

    Prior to Signum FM, Richard had extensive experience in the armed forces, serving as a former tank commander and scorpion armoured reconnaissance vehicle commander, as well as working his way up from security officer to facilities/contract/operations manager over a 30-year period.

    Outside of work, Richard enjoys training, playing golf, and watching both codes of rugby.

    Fun fact about Richard: He’s met the entire Royal Family, including the late Princess Diana.
